What we do…

As this is a voluntary support network it is outside the capabilities of the volunteers to provide an emergency service and we encourage everyone to be continually aware of the availability of Vetlife a charity who provides a 24/7 phone and email helpline.

What happens?

This website provides the facility to send a message to the peer support organisation with the pledge that a response can be expected within 24 hours. The info@vetsupportni.co.uk email will be monitored and managed each day by a peer supporter on a rota basis and there will always be someone available to chat to you within 24 hours of you making contact. On our Contact/Meet the Supporters  you will find the biographies and direct contact details for all the trained peer supporters. They can be contacted directly by email through the website and depending on their individual availability, arrangements for follow up conversations can be organised.

Can I choose who I speak to or make contact with?

Yes, you can. You can contact them by email, email addresses are on their profiles. Please be aware that there will be times of the year that the person you may prefer to speak to is on holiday, leave or not available until a certain day or time. Such unavailability will be clear from the reply you receive and an opportunity to forward your message to the general Inbox remains open to any caller.

Can I just continue to email rather than talk on the phone?

Yes. You remain in charge of how you wish to receive our support.
Please feel free to get in touch with any of the volunteers by the methods outlined above, but rest assured that this is a relaxed, safe and confidential support and listening service provided by trained vets and nurses. Details of any contact or the content of any discussions will never be disclosed. All supporters are committed to complete confidentiality, you will never be asked to provide any information that you do not want to disclose.
